Remember Katrina?
Just because we don't see New Orleans on the news anymore doesn't mean the city has had some miraculous recovery. Check out these pics that Trent Reznor has uploaded to his website after he took a tour through the city just last week.

I think everybody knows that it's going to take years for this area to become a normal community again. The sad thing is that this has the potential to happen every year. What can we do?

It just seems that the press coverage has died. The rush of charities and such that was on TV has been gone. If you had been living in a box since it happened and crawled out tonight, you would have no clue it happened there, or anything in South FL for that matter.

From what Josh told me the coverage about Hurricane Wilma hitting South Florida was pretty thin as well. Obviously Katrina did more damage, but South Florida was devastated also.
It's strange how short our nation's attention span is.

I agree with all of you. The media doesn't give a flying shit about the victims of Katrina or Wilma, all they care about is ratings. And once the ratings start to go down, they find some other tradgedy/disastor/bush fuckup to jam down our throats. No wonder the rest of the world thinks we're assholes.
